Aiptek Hi-Speed HD camcorder review

This Aiptek camcorder has a few interesting features, including an external microphone jack and the ability to act as an MP3 player(!), but ultimately its video quality is only mediocre compared to other low-budget, pocket-sized HD camcorders, such as the Kodak Zi8. The image sensor has surprisingly little rolling shutter effect and the lens has a macro mode for close-ups, but the low light sensitivity is only fair, the digital zoom is slow and jerky, and the audio quality is poor, even with an external mic. And the advertised “Hi-Speed HD” capability just means it can record 60 frames per second at 720P resolution — the same as almost any other low-budget HD camcorder currently on the market.
